The inside word is that the Ted Smout Memorial Bridge may well be completed months ahead of schedule.
Certainly the duplication of the bridge into the Redcliffe Peninsula will be a welcome addition and as the photo below demonstrates, it won’t be long at all before the bridge’s major infrastructure will connect Deagon/Brighton and Clontarf.
The new bridge is in the background, behind the Houghton Highway and in the foreground is the Hornibrook Highway which is to be eventually dismantled with the exception of some length either side to be used as fishing platforms.
